If you are going to be a student leader here at Eikon Student Ministries, we expect the following four things from you: 1) Commitment to Personal Worship
John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” I commit to being in a growing and intentional relationship with God where I personally spend time hearing from God in His Word and talking to Him in prayer.
2) Commitment to Ministry Excellence
Colossians 3:23-24, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” I commit to performing all ministry duties with excellence and as if I were doing them for Jesus alone. This includes: arriving on time, being aware of my team responsibilities, performing my responsibilities to the best of my ability, and asking questions when needed.
3) Commitment to Humble Service
Matthew 20:26-28, “…But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” I commit to serving my fellow students, not to be recognized or exalted, but so that Jesus might be.
4) Commitment to Joyful Service
Philippians 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.” I commit to serving with a joyful heart and spirit. I will choose to be excited about what God is doing in our student ministry, and I will resist the urge to: grumble, complain, speak negatively, or be overly critical of anyone or anything that we do.
